Metropole Mood

Autumn Glow

September 2026

As the new season begins, Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo unveils “Autumn Glow”, a suspended installation inspired by the last glowing moments of summer on the Riviera, transforming the Lobby Bar from September 1 to November 23. True to the creative spirit of the hotel, each Métropole Mood engages with or contrasts the world imagined by Jacques Garcia, playing with textures, colours and light. With each season, this ephemeral artistic scenography continues to surprise, enchant and evoke emotions in guests.

Indian Summer in All Its Splendour

At this time of year, the light becomes softer and more golden, while Mediterranean gardens continue to reveal their abundance. An emblem of the South, bougainvillea evokes sun-drenched façades, villas surrounded by lush vegetation and the art of living that allows summer to linger well into autumn. At the Lobby Bar, 4000 long flowering branches rise and unfurl towards the ceiling, as if the vegetation had escaped the pull of gravity. 10 000 bougainvillea flowers suspended nearly 5 metres above the ground create a true Mediterranean canopy. A mirror placed on the floor heightens the illusion, reflecting the flowers and their hues in a play of perspectives in which guests find themselves reflected. Two shades dominate the composition: flamboyant, luminous fuchsia, expressing the intensity of late summer, and orange, inspired by the last sunsets, the warm Mediterranean earth and the first golden hues of autumn. This palette subtly accompanies the transition from one season to the next, as summer lingers before giving way to autumn.

A Season That Lingers

This scenography was born from a universal feeling: returning to the rhythm of everyday life while holding on to the lightness of the holidays for a few more weeks. September marks the return to routine, calendars fill up once again, yet on the Riviera, something seems to resist the passing of time. Here, bougainvillea becomes a symbol of this extended interlude. It celebrates that moment of transition when the energy of a new season meets the first hints of autumn, during that singular period known as Indian summer.

L’Éclosion

A floral interpretation of the White Negroni, inspired by the bougainvillea adorning the lobby of Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo. Prince Explorer Gin brings depth and botanical notes, while Luxardo Bitter Bianco and Martini Ambratto create an elegant, soft and luminous bitterness. Beside the glass, a small vial holds water delicately infused with geranium, with subtle violet hues. Gradually poured into the cocktail, it introduces a new aromatic dimension and a floral touch that echoes the cascades of fuchsia flowers throughout the décor. A cocktail imagined like a flower: first closed, then revealed at the moment of service.

‍

Created by Perrine Guyonnet, each Metropole Mood is born from an instinctive creative process, fuelled by moodboards, textures, images and inspirations drawn from the seasons, as well as from culture and fashion. The décor comes to life in a single night, revealing a completely transformed world by morning. A suspended moment when surprised guests stop, hesitate and almost wonder: has this décor always been here?

Through the Metropole Moods, the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo expresses its bold and creative spirit. The seasons unfold through aesthetic and artistic scenographies, where every detail invites contemplation, enchantment and emotion.
